Dear Users of DeLi Linux,
as you may have noticed I wasn't much around here some time. I have been (and will be) very busy with work and familiy. Therefore I have simply no time for the further development of DeLi Linux now and in the near future.
But I don't want DeLi to die. That's why I encourage you to take over or even fork DeLi Linux.
If you are interested in the development of DeLi Linux please contact me or leave a notice here.
Regards,
Henry

« Last edit by delix on Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:25 pm. »

Hi haary, Would you still consider leading the project while letting the community do the "dirty work", maybe something in the same vein as AUR (DeLi 0.8 already has pacman, why stop there? )

I'm interested in this project. Although I am a new user, I'll give this project a try.

Before you go, I hope you have time to post some information to those interested in developing Deli. For example how do you build a new distribution version from bare sources. A kind of "Deli hackers' guide" would be ideal, but even a page full of cryptic hints would help...

well, I think it is more a matter of the "who-does" than the "how-to". If nobody with the necessary skills takes the lead in the development process, there is no way to head towards a next version of Deli. This is simply above my head. I would be glad if somebody takes on this job and I'm willing to contribute and to do some of the administration tasks, but I know my limits quiet well. Any qualified help is needed anyway « Last edit by delix on Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:09 pm. »

I am very glad, that delix has taken over the job of administrating the web pages and bringing new packages to DeLi. I wish him luck for this assignment. I will be in the "background" and will get in touch with you on an erratic basis. As for the future development towards a next version: Is isn't this hard. If you know how to build packages you found half your way around. The rest is a little shell-scripting and gluing all together. If someone here knows shell scripting well, I would appreciate when someone enhances minipac.sh from http://www.delilinux.org/misc/minipac.sh so that we have a fully functional and compatible pacman replacement (the original pacman needs too much resources). « Last edit by haary on Wed Feb 18, 2009 8:55 pm. »

well, it is haarys decision...... the last time I got an answer from him was several months ago. To sum it up : he was thinking of a comeback and he is not willing any longer to pass it over to somebody else. as far as I'm concerned : this is still valid http://www.delilinux.org/forum/forum.php?id=10
